Dan LeVan is an attorney with more than 30 years of experience. He joined Weisman Young & Ruemenapp in 2024 as a partner.
Dan’s practice is focused in the areas of union/labor law and litigation, employment law, ERISA and multiemployer employee benefit fund compliance issues and litigation, and the representation and counseling of unions, multiemployer funds, businesses and individuals. He regularly represents clients before federal and state agencies and federal trial and appellate courts regarding a broad range of matters, including unfair labor practice charges, complex litigation and appeals, fringe benefit fund collections, ERISA and fiduciary matters, grievance arbitrations, and discrimination and civil rights claims. He has extensive past experience in commercial and employment litigation and drafting and reviewing various employment and commercial contracts and documents.
Dan graduated first in his class from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1993. While in law school, Dan was an editor for the Law Review and interned for U.S. District Court Judge Paul Gadola. Dan received the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence and American Jurisprudence Awards in Evidence and Secured Transactions, and was a member of the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society. Dan obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1989.
Dan is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and all Michigan state courts.
