James J. Abbo, In Memoriam

On April 5, 2019, the Firm lost its beloved partner, James A. Abbo, age 52. Jim was a critical part of the Firm specializing in the areas of estate and business succession planning, asset protection planning, probate and trust administration, and corporate and tax law. Prior to joining WY&R, Mr. Abbo gained public accounting experience in the audit department at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Jim had substantial experience in administering large estates and counseling business owners with regard to various estate and tax planning, asset protection planning and business objectives. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Business and the University of Arizona School of Law.

So many clients had the same sentiments; Jim was a great guy, tremendous listener, smart, practical, understanding and empathetic. Even clients who did not know Jim that well were very emotional about Jim's untimely passing.

We have wonderful memories of Jim including his great love of U of M sports, his kindness and humility, his willingness to help anyone anytime. May God bless his memory.
